Indian benchmark indices are expected to open on a subdued note on July 14, as GIFT Nifty was trading around 24,042 in early trade, indicating a weak start for domestic equities.

In the previous session, the benchmark indices staged a smart recovery from early losses to end with marginal gains.

Strength in information technology stocks helped offset weakness in select FMCG, metal, and realty counters, allowing the markets to close in positive territory.

On Monday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 77616.4 up by 47.01 points or by 0.06 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24211 up by 4.1 points or by 0.02 %.

On the global front, most Asian markets were trading lower as oil prices rose amid rising tensions in West Asia. Japan’s Nikkei 225 and South Korea’s Kospi were trading 0.69 per cent and 1.78 per cent down, respectively.

Overnight, the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 ended 0.26 per cent and 0.79 per cent down, respectively. The Nasdaq Composite settled 1.55 per cent down. On NSE, total number of shares traded was 460.57 Crore and total turnover stood at Rs. 121684.26 Crore.

On NSE Future and Options, total number of contracts traded in index futures was 84825 with a total turnover of Rs. 13857.14 Crore. Along with this total number of contracts traded in stock futures were 1074128 with a total turnover of Rs. 71559.64 Crore. Total numbers of contracts for index options were 162092447 with a total turnover of Rs. 25519191.03 Crore. and total numbers of contracts for stock options were 6491922 with a total turnover of Rs. 436945.61 Crore.

The FIIs on 13/07/2026 stood as net buyer in equity and debt. Gross equity purchased stood at Rs. 16656.18 Crore and gross debt purchased stood at Rs. 726.38 Crore, while the gross equity sold stood at Rs. 13499.12 Crore and gross debt sold stood at Rs. 426.77 Crore. Therefore, the net investment of equity and debt reported were Rs. 3157.06 Crore and Rs. 299.61
