Sensex and Nifty traded with modest gains in afternoon trade on Thursday as strength in IT, consumer durables and auto stocks offset weakness in banking and realty shares.
At 14:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 77338.62 up by 153.19 points or by 0.2 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24085.85 up by 7.35 points or by 0.03 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 77579.69 and intraday low of 77151.31 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24186.5 and intraday low of 24051.65
