Mid-Session: Sensex up 256 points; IT, TECK support

Indian benchmark indices continued to trade higher during the noon trading session supported by buying in index heavyweights including HCL Technologies Ltd, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, Infosys Ltd.Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.InterGlobe Aviation Ltd.among others.

At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 77441.64 up by 256.21 points or by 0.33 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24159.6 up by 81.1 points or by 0.34 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 77579.69 and intraday low of 77276.52 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24186.5 and intraday low of 24097.05

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1197.00,+2.50%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2225.20,+1.66%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1092.95,+1.54%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1521.05,+1.49%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 5245.45,+1.43%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 290.00,-1.61%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1304.20,-0.65%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 409.10,-0.50%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 811.90,-0.42%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1949.40,-0.16%), among others.
