The Sensex and Nifty recovered from their early lows in afternoon trade on Monday, supported by a strong rebound in information technology stocks. However, persistent weakness in metal, FMCG and realty shares kept the benchmark indices trading in negative territory.
At 12:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 77565.01 down by -4.38 points or by -0.01 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24190.65 down by -16.25 points or by -0.07 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 77589.39 and intraday low of 76857.43 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24198.55 and intraday low of 24000.2
