India's trade deficit with China surpassed USD 100 billion during the first nine months of the year, reaching USD 105.93 billion, despite a 40.7% year-on-year increase in Indian exports. The deficit widened 20.7% from the corresponding period last year, according to data released by China's General Administration of Customs on Wednesday.
Bilateral trade between the two countries grew 25.4% to USD 144.45 billion during January–September, reflecting an increase in overall trade activity alongside a continued rise in Chinese exports to India.
The figures highlight the persistent imbalance in India-China trade, with the deficit continuing to expand even as Indian exports maintain strong growth.
