India’s industrial production grew 6.7% year-on-year in July 2026, easing from the 8.8% growth recorded in the previous month, according to government data released on Friday.
The moderation was largely attributed to a contraction in the mining sector. July marked the fourth monthly release of the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) under the new series.
The manufacturing sector remained a key driver of growth, expanding 7.3%, while the Electricity and Gas Supply sector recorded strong growth of 8.7% during the month.
